Join the Jewish Brigade!
Gabriel and Maxim Shamir
Palestine, 1943
The Jewish Brigade was the only military unit to serve in World War II in the British Army—and, in fact, in all the Allied forces—as an independent Jewish military formation. The Brigade was composed mainly of Jews from the Land of Israel and was the result of prolonged efforts by the Zionist Movement there to achieve recognized participation and representation of the Jewish people in the war against Nazi Germany.
Translation from Hebrew: It’s really not worth it to avoid serving! Join the Jewish Brigade!
