Dan, It does not make sense because Kopel and Gurwin are family names in Israel.. There are 24 Kopels in the Tel Aviv telephone directory and one Gurwin.
BUT, it is a historical fact that Kopel Gurwin was an artist. Following your e maiI, I found his name and works in "Bezalel 100", ed. Tartakover and Ofrat,2006
Also, I found that his widow (he passed away in 1990) is running the Kopel Studio at Beit Yanai and is selling his tapestries and other works of art.
