Dear Dan,

I would like to thank you very much for your gift of duplicate posters from the Palestine Poster Project Archive to the British Museum. This is very generous of you and they will complement the posters we already have in the British Museum collection.  Such material is of great benefit and an important  resource for the study of the contemporary Middle East.

We hope that the posters will be available to be seen on the British Museum website over the course of the next few months.

Again, with many thanks and kind regards,

Jonathan

Dear Jonathan,

Thank you very much for your swift acknowledgement.

I hope it is not too much trouble for you if I ask for a more formal acknowledgement letter. What we would really like to receive from the BM is a letter such as one of these on official letterhead:

http://palestineposterproject.org/special-collection/pppa-gifted-postersacknowledgement-letters

To be perfectly frank and transparent with you these formal letters are dear to us. We gift Palestine posters as a way of bringing the Palestine poster tradition to the attention of major art and cultural institutions and also, it must be admitted, to garner the prestige of association. We think the Palestine poster tradition deserves a place, long denied, in the cultural canon. Happily, the Palestine poster has been nominated for inscription in UNESCO's Memory of the World Program and we should know the final status of that nomination later this year:

Venetia has been so good with this process and we intend to make additional gifts to the British Museum.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

best regards,

Dan Walsh, Curator/PPPA

PS: We would be happy to accept a digital scan of the letter or if BM prefers to send a hard copy this is the best mailing address:
