According to Wikipedia (in Hebrew) the manufacturer was called Artic like the Belgian firm which gave it know how and license to use the name.
Both band names – Artic and Kartive became generic names. You can say now in Israel Shalgon (ice cream bar) or Artic/
Kartiv is an ice bar, sweetened and colored.
