Curator's note:
The caption of this poster is a dialectal Palestinian Arabic expression:
We are connected so fuck off
The image depicts a man and a woman simultaneously separated and connected by the positive and negative silhouettes of each other on each side of the map of Palestine
The swirling lines likely refer to the vagaries of history and politics touching, and uniting, both figures
The hand in the middle of the image is "giving the finger" and also forming part of a "V for victory" sign
The "finger" is for the Zionists and the "V" is for the Palestinians
This specific use of the caption/slogan relates to the current effort to free Sumayya Falah but it is widely used in prisoner advocacy efforts
The caption is in-group code serving to telegraph to the imprisoned that they are not alone or forgotten
The caption says, in effect: We Palestinians are one, united people wherever we are and nothing can change that and we will be re-connected together in our historic homeland one day and we do not care how Zionists feel about that
