Poster - Encyclopedia Judaica

The Encyclopedia Judaica, an effort to describe everything Jewish, was published in Jerusalem starting in 1972 with sixteen volumes; additional supplementary volumes came out until 1994. A 22 volume second edition was published in 2007. This silk-screen poster advertises the Encyclopedia with an illustration of Jewish costumes appearing in volume 6 of the first publication. The well known Israeli artist Eliezer Weishoff designed the outstanding image. The poster has been backed onto acid-free linen and restored. Original folds are still discernable, especially in the gold areas; there are small repaired tears at the edges that are associated with these original tears; there are additional repaired tears along the top edge additional traces of folds at the top edge and bottom right corner; and there is a small loss right inside the bottom left corner. The poster is clean and bright and, in spite of its imperfections, looks great.
