Printed poster announcing the beginning of the printing of a new Zionist-Socialist newspaper entitled HaDor on 7 Cheshvan 1947. Designer: Ankorion (M. Worobicheck), HaAretz Press. Just a few weeks later, the British returned the mandate they had received following the UN resolution for the establishment of the Jewish state. The newspaper’s editor was the renowned politician, journalist and author, Eliezer Livnah. The newspaper, expressing the ruling party’s (Mapai’s) stance, closed about seven years later. Size: 50.5×69 cm. Affixed to canvas for preservation. 56×75.5 cm. Fine-very fine condition. Minimal aging stains.
