Sorry Dan. I do not really know the answer to your questions. Also I lost touch with Jumana. I am not sure whether she is still in Paris or in Amman. You may try and reach her niece Zeina Chahid who lives in Paris:
zeinachahid@wanadoo.fr
In case Zeina could not answer your questions, please ask her to give you the email address of Jumana’s son. He may know.
When you write to Zeina, you may feel free to mention my name. She is a good friend of Lily and me as much as Jumana has always been,
Kamal

Hello Zeina,
I am a rafeeq of Kamal Boullata and he suggested that I write to you as I would like to be in touch with Jumana regarding one of her poster designs.
If you think it appropriate would you be so kind as to forward this email to her?
Many thanks,
Dan Walsh, Curator/PPPA

Hi Dan and thank you for your prompt reply. Sorry that my comment was short and not complete, I was trying to get the kids out of the door to go to school but wanted to send the message before I forget!

The poster that has no credit on it is this one:

https://www.palestineposterproject.org/poster/nazisrael

My father’s name is Abdulkader Arnaout, a Syrian artist, 1936-1992. I’ll send you more info about him when I’m back home.

This poster along with a few other posters were designed to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Kafer Kassem. The exhibition was in Germany (most probably East Germany).

You have two other posters from the same exhibition published on your website:

https://www.palestineposterproject.org/poster/israel-aggression

https://www.palestineposterproject.org/poster/harmonie

We usually write my father’s name for simplicity and consistency as Abdulkader Arnaout and not Abdel Kader.

I have two or three more posters that were designed by my father for the same occasion, I’ll shoot them your way once I’m back home.

I’m also working on a website for him but as for now there is a Facebook page where I publish some of his works.

https://www.facebook.com/abdulkaderarnaout?mibextid=LQQJ4d

Where are you based? Are you in the USA?

Best,

Sami

Hi, I’ve noticed that you are publishing some posters by my later father Abdulkader Arnaout. In some you have the name and on some others there is no name. How can we fix that? Also I have a couple more posters that were designed for the same occasion. How can I submit them to you?

Hello Sami,

Thanks for writing. PPPA relies on the goodwill of the public to make the site work and to correct errors or omissions. Can u give us a bit more info? WHICH posters by your father do not have credits? We need specific URL's (Please read the FAQ). We will make any corrections you point out.
