Frank Newbould, 1887-1951, posters designer, native of Bradford (England), specialized in drawing tourism posters and designed various promotional posters including posters for the British War Office.

In Frank Newbould's design, a caravan of camels laden with boxes marked Jaffa Oranges passes along the shore across the bay from the port city of Jaffa. We don't know if Newbould was ever in Jaffa, but the image is a reliable facsimile of the town at the time with its buildings indicated almost symbolically as flat rectangles and parallelograms. The artist has signed the image on the lower right (Frank Newbould) in the plate. In the bottom margin are: left - "R.B.A.5 Issued by the Empire Marketing Board"; center - "JAFFA"; and right - "Printed for H.M Stationery Office by Waterloo & Sons London, Dunstable & Watford".
