Hi Katie,,,take a look...

http://www.palestineposterproject.org/poster/steadfastness-1

Q: Do you mind my asking you which Arabic verb you used for the title and the calligraphic text on the right (the text flowing down the woman's body)? Did you use "Sumud"?

in solidarity,

Dan

I used thml, not sumood. WHen I was asking around for the correct work, I was told thml, but then later after I finished I realized sumood might be better.

Also I noticed you have a cartoon of mine up on the site but it's incomplete, it only has the first panel. The full cartoon is here:

Here's another one you can use if you like (attached)

Hi Katie,

I added a Curator's Note with the direct url to the complete cartoon...thanks for that:

http://www.palestineposterproject.org/poster/the-etymology-of-the-word-a...

I would readily add the other graphic you sent but there is nothing specifically Palestinian about is...as far as I can see. Or am I missing something?

I love your cartoon on antisemitism ... some years back I launched the campaign against Merriam-Webster over their definition of antisemitism and got them to admit that it never was an accurate definition but they reprinted the dictionary (a ten year supply) without making their own correction.

I maintain that the conflation of antisemitism with anti-Zionism is the seminal/vital core of the Zionist ideology and one that must be abolished before we will see a more natural discourse on Palestine emerge. Maybe you agree?

in solidarity,

Dan

PS: my daughter and son-in-law live in Oakland and I am a brand new grandfather of a radiant little girl named Valentina...next time I am out to see her maybe we can meet up for coffee somewhere? They live at the intersection of San Pablo and 54th Street.

Hi Dan,

Ok thanks.

I created the Dignity or Death postcard for a campaign about the Palestinian hunger strikers. But you're right, there's nothing specially on the artwork that is Palestinian.

I have so much other artwork and cartoons I could submit.. tons of stuff. SHould I submit some more ?

That's cool about your campaign. Did they change the online dictionary ?

I would say it's at the core of their marketing, self-justification, and hasbara but never really felt it was part of Zionist ideology. But I don't like antisemitic means anti Jewish specifically, instead of anti anyone who speaks a semitic language or is of semitic origin.
