Hallo Dan, Thank you for your nice compliments. This is a poster indeed I made in 1973 in Utrecht, Netherlands where I worked in my silkscreen studio/shop (zeefdruk Iris) making posters for different activities on liberation. At that time we also worked in a collective of socially engaged artists and students. As far as I remember this one is made by me in cooperation with my friend Celia Stoker who printed it in my studio. The poster is made for a film performance and a photo exhibition about the liberation of Palestine. So the publisher was 'De Raadskelder', a rather anarchistic political group/organization, situated in the city hall basement of Utrecht who organized all kinds of critical engaged events and discussions. It was a very vital and progressive time! The date is correct. The posters I made in Utrecht are not on line yet. As far as I remember there were no further events about Palestine and I quit making posters in early 1974 due to illness. Times changed dramatically anyhow and less was possible. It is only the last few years we see a revival that brings me back to spirit of the sixties. Maybe thats the reason I am making posters again on human rights issues since 2005. What a great great work you are doing with the PPPA. I am honoured to be part of it. Breathtaking posters on the website. I will publish those on the Freedomhouse-Art site! It is a very convincing and frightening history in poster images. with respect, Iris de Leeuw On Sep 29, 2011, at 5:04 AM, Dan Walsh wrote: http://www.palestineposterproject.org/poster/vrijheid-voor-palestijnen Hello Iris, This poster is credited to you: Is it your work? I trust you welcome its placement at the PPPA. Q: Who was the publisher? Q: Is the date correct? Q: Do you have other Palestine posters you would like to add? (I did not see this one or any others at your site) in solidarity, Dan Walsh, Archivist PPPA PS: I LOVE your work...so rich...so vibrant...so authentic.
